Method and suitability

What are hot fusion and K-tip extensions?

At Elska, we use hot fusion: extension hair is attached strand by strand to your natural hair with small bonds we handcraft from high-quality Italian keratin. You may also see this type of extension described as K-tip.

Are keratin extensions the same as a keratin smoothing treatment?

No. Keratin extensions add hair for fullness or length. A keratin smoothing treatment treats your own hair and is a different service. At Elska, we work with micro and nano keratin extensions.

Is nano keratin the same as nano ring extensions?

No. Our nano keratin extensions use small keratin bonds shaped with heat. Nano ring extensions are attached with small rings. They are different attachment methods despite the similar names.

Is the method suitable for my hair?

We assess your natural hair's length, density and condition alongside your desired result. Hair weight and placement are tailored to you; suitability and comfort need an individual assessment.

How long does my natural hair need to be?

This depends on your hair and the result you want. If you are unsure about length and options, a consultation can help you choose a service.

Online consultation is free and lasts 20 minutes. An in-person consultation costs DKK 100. Book your in-person consultation by messaging us on Instagram, our preferred option. You can also send a text.

How do I start an online consultation?

If you are unsure which service to choose, send hair details and photos through the free online consultation. We help you choose colour, length, hair weight and a treatment plan.

How much are extensions including hair?

DKK 2,800–12,000. Hair, bond preparation, application, blending cut and styling are included. The options below are charged in addition to the base price.

What does correction include?

Every correction package includes removal, bond preparation, reapplication, blending cut and styling.

Is keratin always cheaper than weft?

Keratin is not necessarily cheaper than weft. Compare hair, application, maintenance and removal for the same intended result. Fewer visits do not automatically mean a lower price or fewer hours in the salon. At Elska, you receive an individual assessment for micro and nano keratin extensions.

Your appointment and preparation

How should I prepare my hair?

After your consultation, do not cut, color or chemically treat your hair before your extension appointment. Before application, wash your hair twice with shampoo only, use no other products, and arrive with completely dry, straight hair. If your hair has not been washed before your appointment, you can book a wash/blow-dry for DKK 400 (30 minutes).

How do I send photos after booking directly?

After booking directly, send us 3–4 photos of your hair on Instagram so we can choose the right hair colour.

Aftercare and maintenance

How long can I wear my extensions?

Keratin bonds typically last 3–4 months with proper care. Your maintenance appointment depends on your hair and its growth and is agreed with us.

Can the extension hair be reused?

With appropriate care, the extension hair can be reused for up to 1.5 years. Its condition is assessed at each correction appointment; this period is not a guarantee for every client.

How should I wash and style my hair?

Use products suitable for extensions. Apply conditioner and any hair oil to the mid-lengths and ends, keeping them away from the bonds. Rinse thoroughly. Use heat tools carefully on the lengths, keeping straighteners and curling irons away from the keratin bonds.

How do I protect my hair while sleeping?

Tie dry hair into a loose braid or a soft, loose ponytail to help prevent tangling during sleep.

What about swimming and saunas?

Speak with us about swimming, salt water, chlorine and sauna use for advice suited to your hair and extensions.
